Join the action at Parliament on Monday September 4th

WarningSymbol.png

This week the Conservative government, our elected leaders, approved the licensing of 100 new oil and gas fields. Westminster is focused on votes over the biggest crisis to ever face humanity. But we, the people, hold the power with our votes.

This is a warning to our current and potential future political leaders – we won’t vote for new oil and gas. The ballot box is our voice and louder than ever we are calling for no new fossil fuels.

This is a call to action – use your voice, use your vote. Print the posters, post them far and wide. We, the people, vote for the long-term survival of ourselves and future generations, not for short-term political gain.

The oil party is over.

Action

are you a scientist? join the action!

Whether you’re a professor, post-doc or student, all are welcome!

We are microbiologists, ecologists, astrophysicists, air pollution scientists and everything in between- united in the knowledge that the climate crisis will impact everything we research and love and a desire to act now.

Please send an email to emma@chrispackham.co.uk and we’ll link you into our growing group of scientists ready to greet MPs as they return to parliament, joining together to call for an end to new fossil fuel licensing.

Not a scientist but want to support scientists at parliament?

Urge your elected representatives (and encourage your colleagues, friends and family to urge theirs) to speak with scientists outside Parliament on Monday 4th September.

Email templates are available here. Share a photo of your letter on social media, tagging your MP or make a short video explaining why your MP should listen to the science on new oil and gas.
